33-year-old actress Megan Fox reveals shocking news of her having a breakdown after her 2009 film "Jennifer's Body" bombed.

Back then, she recalled how the press and the public had a bad reaction and had gone through many lengths in order to destroy her, blaming her for the film's failure. However, that was not the worst of it. Fox had also received attacks due to her outspoken nature and was highly sexualized at a young age.

In an interview last Wednesday, Fox told Entertainment tonight that

"There was so much going on with me at that time, that movie being picked apart was not at the top of [my list of concerns]. Because I had such a fraught relationship with the public, and the media, and journalists, and I was struggling so much at that time in general, this didn't stand out as a particularly painful moment, it was just part of the mix."

Her statement comes after the 10th year anniversary of Jennifer's Body.

In the past, the actress also experienced sexual assault. She did not publicize this in fear of being blamed for her experiences as she was not, as she termed, the "perfect victim."She retreated from the spotlight in order to heal and protect herself as she felt that she was not supported by feminists in her dark period and won't likely receive it in the future.

Fox conveyed her emotions, saying,

"Even though I consider myself a feminist, I feel like feminists don't want me to be a part of their group. What is supporting other females if there are only certain ones of us we support? If I have to be an academic or have to be non-threatening to you in some way? Why can't I be a part of the group as well? I think I had a genuine psychological breakdown where I wanted just nothing to do, I didn't want to be seen. I didn't want to have to take a photo, do a magazine, walk a carpet. I didn't want to be seen in public at all because... I believed that I was going to be mocked, or spat at, or someone was going to yell at me, or people would stone me or savage me for just being out and being whatever."

Fox said that her moment of clarity came with motherhood and has come out of her retirement to once again star in films. She is now promoting "Battle of Jangsari" and has just stripped down for a new lingerie campaign.
